January 29, 2018

Dear Choir Parents and Students,

We are halfway to March, and with it comes Music in the Schools Month. With that in mind, it is also time for our 6th annual Fine Arts Gala! This year the theme is Music from the Movies! Here are some important items to add to your calendars regarding the Gala.

There will be a mandatory dress rehearsal for all 5th-6th choir members on Wednesday, March 7th from 3:15pm-4:00pm in the H.S. Gym. Middle School & Image students will rehearse from 3:45 – 5:30 pm. This is an important part of the performance as there are many transitions that will need to work through with both vocal and instrumental ensembles.  On Thursday, March 8th, call time for students will be 6:15pm. This performance is also mandatory.

To coincide with our theme for the evening, student attire is classic black and white. Dress for Gentlemen will be: solid, white button down/polo shirt or sweater, black pants, black belt, black dress socks, and dress shoes. Dress for Ladies will be: solid white blouse or sweater, black skirt (covering the knee) or slacks, and dress shoes. Ladies may wear minimal, tasteful, coordinating jewelry.

This year we are offering the opportunity for advanced seating. There are a total of 150 seats available at tables, which gives you a chance to have some of the best seats in the house. Tickets for these seats will be available beginning February 13th in both the elementary and secondary offices for a donation of $10 each. Complimentary seating will also be available in the top section of bleachers.

When students are finished performing their selections, they will be asked to sit with parents and stay for the entire performance. We also ask that students do not sit with a group of friends by themselves. This is out of respect for those performing. If you choose to buy reserved seating at a table, please inform the secretary of how many children you have performing in the Gala, as we will just add a specific number of extra folding chairs to your table for them to use.

We are in need of parent volunteers in multiple areas: Set Up Crew on Tuesday, March 6th at 7:30 pm and Tear Down Crew, Parental Supervision in Classrooms before the Performance, and Donated Baked Goods for the Silent Auction. Please contact Lori Ballitch if you’re willing to donate a baked item.

Thank you for all of your prayers and support. If you would like to volunteer, please email me at zentz.heidi@mcsflames.org  to let me know in what capacity you would be able to help us. Thank you again for the privilege of teaching your incredible children!  J We’re looking forward to a marvelous night of music-making for the glory of God!

Sincerely,

Miss Heidi Zentz
