Philosophy of Music

Within the realm of teaching music, my greatest desire is for my students to experience the beauty of musical creativity, communication, and community for the glory of God. My goal is to creatively present the arts in culturally relevant and academically sound methods, while clearly demonstrating the universal appeal and connection of music to literature, history, and current issues. I hope to enable my students to become independent musicians who discover their musical interests, hone their skills, and expose their spheres of influence to life-changing memorable and aesthetic experiences. I want my students to experience the blessing of wisdom, the joy of music, and every other good and perfect gift God bestows, with a spirit of thankfulness. I desire my students to develop a love for lifelong learning and the ability and confidence to become independent musicians, as they mature individually and lovingly serve society because of their love for Christ.
